New Overpass

Hi Everyone
Monday there is a scheduled meeting from 5-730 pm at Defiance Hs for a proposed grade separation east of Defiance.It will be interesting because there is already an overpass 1.5 miles east of the new site.(mr & mrs john Q public are too much in a hurry to use it )In between sits hire rd yard which can get quite busy with GM traffic. so what will the public say?what will Odot say???

Can you give us some background…is the new overpass closer to a hospital (for ambulances) or would it be for a major through street?

they would make it as part of a bypass around defiance.The firemen I’ve talked too from that area said it woul help them alot. Csx would like the overpass because of too many impatient people.by the way the meeting is from 5:30 -7 sorry about that.

(1) What does the PUCO say?
(2) Where is the 1.5 to 2.5 Million to build the thing come from
(3) Does the yard now get hemmed-in with no room for more & longer tracks (dumb move, but it happens too often)

  1. its more of a call from city and safety officials
  2. Railroad county city and st govt and some funding from a program developed when csx/ns split conrail.
    3)yard could expand eastward to the rt 18 overpass.
    they are saying construction wouldnt start ubtil 2007-2008 so we’ll see.
