Since I got my DSLR I have been more into photography than modelling. Here are a few photos from Friday as I followed around a CPR Pacific at the York Railway Modellers Club Layout:

[tup][tup] I really love the last 2 pics!
Nice work, boy, do those caboose pics bring back some memories, can we comment on the layout??? I would add a small bit of debris, weeds, a few piles of ties, maybe some extra rail beside the tracks, a few bushes, etc. it sort of looks like a golf course, this would give it a “lived-in” look, wouldn’t it?? -just a comment, could this be a comment on Toronto? when the U.S. film companies come to shoot in TO they actually have to fill the alleys and some streets with debris, this is pretty common. Could this have some bearing on the layout? again, great layout ! !
This looks like a very interesting and nicely executed layout. I like the weathering on the various items. If I may be permitted an honest appraisal of the caboose, I would be happier seeing a single, maybe two applications, of an India Ink wash along its sides to bring out some relief and to make it look a bit more grimey. Just something that I would do.
The engine looks like a nice one…who made/makes it? Is it bashed from something else?
The station and the large building with tower are very nice. Good setting and nice photography, too.
Thanks for sharing.
The CPR Pacific is brass and the CPR caboose is a resin kit.

I like the stations. The autos give them a nice sense of time, and the structure models are very nice.
They have done a lot of work since I was there last. I got to go back.
Nice Pics
Great pictures, Mike, and a nice looking layout, too. Could you tell us a little more about the buff brick station, please? Is it from a kit or kitbash, or is it scratchbuilt? It looks as if it’s also got a good-sized attached freight house, too. Any chance of a couple more pictures? [swg]
Thanks for the tour.
Wayne
This station was scratchbuilt using plaster molds as were most of the stations on the layout. It is a model of the Kitchener station in Kitchener, Ontario. I don’t have any other photos right now. I’ll take some more of all the stations next time I am there.

Very, very nice!
Let’s look at what was done correctly:
Muted, unifying colors.
Expansive, rolling, yet minimalist scenery.
Subtle weathering - nothing too new but no rolling wrecks.
Well-ballasted track.
No track spaghetti bowl.
Consistantly well-detailed locos and cars.
Well done. Bravo!
**msowsun-**while you’re taking more station pics, could you get some of the quarry?
Thanks
great photos , really nice layout . i’ve been to a couple of their open houses and i’ve considered joining , but it’s a longish transit ride from downtown where i live
msowsun , are you a member ?
Beautiful layout, great photography. I do have a question. It the second photo am I seeing clouds painted on the ceiling?
Ray
Yes, I am a member.
The “Quarry” is mostly the loading facility. The pit is quite small against the wall.
The clouds are painted on the back drop only.

Very nicely detailed layout, especially for a club layout that large. I really like that stone station too although I hope someone fixes that big hole in the pavement before the Model A falls in. [:)]
I’m going to try to make it down to your open house on November 11th. I’ve heard the layout is very impressive.
