Seems to me the Bachmann Alco switcher is a model of an Alco S4. It has the stack as used on a turbocharged engine and also the larger radiators.

I enjoy your compilation of new products each week. I offer one correction for this week’s edition. The Bachmann Alco diesel is actually a model of an Alco S4. The radiator shutter section at the end of the hood is longer than it is tall.

Looking forward to your assessment of the S4 by Bachmann before I’d buy one. I have an ATSF GP-9, it’s “ok” for a low cost “vanilla” unit. Draws too much current when compared to other DCC units, plus the stock decoder in those is very basic… Thanks for your continued service to the model RR community!
