Anybody see the article on the new rail line China put in to the country of Tibet. The elevation of the line goes so high that the passengers are provided oxygen masks for a portion of the trip.I wonder if the engine crew got oxygren maksks as well.?. Can’t remember the cost of the line but I think it was quite a bit. At that altitude wouldn’t snow eventually become a problem? Also I think the trip from southern China to Tibet took a week or so.
I read an internet artical on it. Didn’t hear anything on oxygen masks though…

Also look at p. 14 of Trains Oct. 2006. Cost for the extension: $4.2 billion. The workers building the line supposedly wore oxygen masks. When it comes to working conditions in China, it’s hard to be sure. The cars are pressurized. Maybe the cheap seats have masks?
