New Rivarossi big boy

The new Rivarossi big boy with DCC and ESU lok sound. Any thoughts on this engine? Pro’s, con’s.

Price is good if you get a discount through a hobby shop. Sound is great, operation is smooth, lighting is excellent. The detail is on the low end but if you’re more about sound and operation it is a good model for a discounted price. Here is a review:

I’m big on sound the ability to run smooth and detail. Two out of three of my likes means I may buy it. I will take a look at it and decide for myself.

Besides I belong to the three ft rule when it comes to detail.

$459 MSRP is really amazing when you consider that when I bought the 1980s version of the Rivarossi Big Boy, the MSRP was about $500 although I doubt many were buying it at that price. My recollection is I paid around $300-350. Adjust for inflation and it is easy to see today we are getting so much more for so much less.
