Well guys and dolls the Shelf has passed. With the E-stupid purchase of a Bachmann Spectrum 80T 3 truck shay Loco came the Idea of how to display and run said loco. After an evening of discussions with the BOSS we came to an accord. I would be able to use the long wall of the hallway for a small line of track. Started with 2 1x6s and have built a shelf that runs the length of the hallway from the end of our book case. The total lengh of the run is about 10 feet. Got some cork road bed and atlas code 83 flex track. Got the cork laid and the track laid, along with the wiring done. Now all that is left is to rearrange the paintings and katana to the livingroom wall ant take the Grist mill painting to the hallway wall.
As I am still waiting the arrival of the shay I have come up with 3 log cars a material car and caboose. All of which have been on the mantle for a week. Now I need to figure out how Iam going to attach the shelf to the wall. Also thinking about ballesting the track to give a finished look. After all its a moving display not a layout. That was a majior selling point to get the BOSSES O.K. [:P][;)]
