New Spectrum Dash 8. Any thoughts

I’m thinking about buying a new dash 8 and was looking at the spectrums. This is the new one which is supposedly reworked and has a DCC plug. Has anyone ever had experience with these? How are they?

I found out later that its speed at 12 volts is about 75 scale MPH, not 85.

The bachmann dash 8 is nothing like the atlas version. I have 3 atlas dash 8 locomotives. They are the best units I have and all come with sound and ditch lights. The bachmann version is a waste of money.

Why is it a waste of money? They’re well detailed, run great, have a lot of power, and they cost less than the Atlas one.[:D] They may not have as much detail as Atlas’s DASH 8s, but that doesn’t mean they’re a waste of money. That’s like saying something not as good as Atlas is a waste of money, which is basically every plastic diesel from any manufacturer in existence.

I’m just getting tired of seeing people say things like, “everything made by Bachmann is complete junk. Stay away from them at all costs!” I just find it a little irritating is all. No offense intended.[:D]

I hope this doesn’t start a flame war. If it does, than I’m sorry, and it’s my fault, so you can blame me.[:)]
