With major construction on my Class A Climax nearly done and the BTS only a few days away I wanted to try to bring something else, so after seeing this advertised in the newest Gazette…
This is the HOn3 prototype model from Bill’s Train Shop (BTS)
I decided I’ll try to bash my own version of this speeder in G using a Mack drive and an extra cheepie Scientific boxcar laying around!
Some progress pics, starting on last Saturday to today.
first primary assembly
drive block screwed to boxcar chassis
boxcar openings cutout
trim pieces added
next gas motor and under carraige stuff…10 days to get it done, hope I can get it done! Need something to chase the Eggliners with at the BTS[:D]
Vic,
That is so cool. You sure are making quick progress. I know…probably not quite as fast as you would like right??? Great work, looking forward to seeing more! Later eh…Brian.
Undercarraige is done, body details are almost done, just need to add the doors and some figures, I’m going to keep the inside simple as i dont think I’ll have time to get Jiggy with the inside due to the time limits, I want to paint it and do some basic weathering prior to the show. No more pics till after Sunday, sorry but I want to maintain a microscopic amount of suspense! LOL!
Hi Vic
Nice freight railmotor
Its a bit big to be called a speeder in my books[:)]
Would look nice with a real short coach as a trailer maybe a job for a scientific passanger car if there is such a thing
regards John
Painting is done!
Silver and black, the lettering is done (temporary vinyl lettering until i can get custom ones done) so at least it looks final. Still need to add the link-n-pin coupler pins and chains tonight and make some custom link bars.
I still need to find time to do some basic weathering prior to hitting it with the dullcoat, then I can add some figures for “scale”
Vic, Love It! Turned out extemely well![:0] Might have to do a speeder of my own, the W&W R.R. had a few, they even had nifty turntables along various sections of track to turn them. The turntables look like they pivoted just a section of track with no real bridge, just the rails.
