New structure added to my layout

Here’s a pic of the latest structure i’ve added to my layout. The model is a FOS-Scale kit. Weathering was accomplished using a mixture of alcohol and india ink followed by dry-brushing (polly-s white). The roads were poured in place using durham’s water putty, charcol powder (For weathering) and sealed with dull coat.

Very nice! Jerry

That looks fantastic!

Bob, this is an excellent model, well done. I particularly like the loose board effect in the siding. Is this a wooden model? Also, what brand of telephone poles do you use, they look very good. Finally, the trash laying around the streets looks very effective, how did you do that? Thanks for sharing, it is very inspiring.

So you said your coming over when?

Very nice work!

Outstanding! I love the cracked concrete roads. How did you do those?

Oh, but did a time machine plunk a Geep behind the gym?

That is nice. Some of us would like to put more emphasis on this sort of realism. Thanks for the work and for sharing it.

The telephone poles were made using 1/4 dowels. I age them by scraping them with a fine tooth razor saw. this brings out more of the wood grain. Then I dunk them in a heavy mixture of alcohol and ink stain. The cross beams are from Rix Product telephone poles. I just use the cross beam and discard the rest (Plastic poles). As far as the streets. After the putty sets, I scribe in the expansion joints and then cracks using a #11 blade. The newpapers and trash are bits of paper that are aged using my alochol and ink mixture to represent writing. Then I wet them in a 50/50 mix of water and white glue in order to wrinkle them. When dry, they are set in place.
