New switchers and other stuff (photos)

I just finished rebuilding and repainting an SW1200 for Cold River. Here is a shot of how it looked originally: green/gold paint scheme (I added the rust and weathering), double beam headlights (not obvious from the photo), single chime horn on front of cab, handrail attached to long hood, plain smokestacks. This is a Proto 2000 model.

and here are two shots of how it now looks: black/grey/orange paint scheme, single beam headlights, new number, triple chime horn, handrails along outside of walkway and spark arrester smokestacks. All custom work was done by myself, including making the dry transfer lettering and striping along the side sill.

I also finished my new Proto 2000 SW900. I got it as an undecorated model and customized it to "CN"ize it:

And finally, a scene on the highway beside the tracks. It looks like the guy in the black car should slow down a bit.[:)]

OUTSTANDING! [:)]

Lookin’ Good!

Sweet! [:D] Nothing like detailing models IMHO…[swg]

Excellent work on the switchers, I like the track work also. Mike

Really nice job! Keep up the good work.

Hal

Great work, thanks for sharing. By the way, who is in the black car?

How did you make the drytransfers?

David

While the quality of your work is excellent, and you are to be applauded (by me) as a fellow CN enthusiast, it kills me to see a beautiful Green & Yellow Livery stripped and replaced with a modern colour scheme. I have spent hours and hours converting my fleet from “what ever colour” to Green & Yellow livery. It just kills me…all the same…good work.

Trevor

The driver was so embarassed, he slunk way down in the seat so as not to be seen. [;)]

I use a system called Chromatec. As far as I know, the North American distributor is in Toronto.

Great pics. Hope to see more in the future.

OUTSTANDING!

Great work! Is the black car the same one in the first pic?

Gotta like them Life-Like GM switchers!

It could be! That guy gets around. [;)]

These spark arrestors are from "Miniatures by Eric. They call them exhaust stacks.
