saturday morning i saw 4 brand new 2006 UP yard switchers there a lot diffrent now my dad said they remind him of the old ALCO diesels they have a snub nose but the long hood is still small like a SW1000 1200 or 1500
thats the cool thing they look like road switchers but are yard service any body seen them besides me take some pics[8D]
The new UP switchers are various versions of the Green Goat and are intended for service in Texas and California. There is also UPY 2005, a Truck Engine Switcher built by National Railway Equipment, which resembles a C415 but has two Cummins truck engines under the hoods.
I sure would like to see a few (esp. the C415 look alike) in action but I live no where near Texas or California.
I thought it was funny in Trains they had a picture of the BNSF locomotive in “The Goat Pen” [:D]
