New uses for a scale you don't model

[?] Group: have you encountered this delima: The LHS or internet retailer cuts you a deal on something you have no use for, yet you just can’t resist?[:D] I aquired a couple of Bachman On30 2-6-0s in such a way.

Now I model in S, so what to do? My layout will have a freelanced lumber road interchange, I did some research and discovered that by reguaging and replacing the obvious O scale details with S details i’ll have some early 20th century power quite different then my normal SP equiptment.

Being unfamilar with Bachman products, Any tips for reguaging?

You could run them as Sn42. If you do regauge them, post an account of what you did. I for one would be interested.

You probably already realize that On30 runs on HO scale track. Trying to regauge it will most assuredly void your warranty, so be prepared to bite the bullet and tra***hem if something goes so wrong that you can’t return them to operating condition.

Advice well heeded, after some thought, If I do this, i’ll leave the reguaging to a pro, I know a excellent person who converts equiptment to Proto 48 and Proto 64 standards and machines drivers for me as well that has the skill and equiptment. Now to make the hard decision.

I found an all metal non operating Nn3 2-6-0 steamer, I use it as a load on a flat delivering to some zoo railroad or something…
