Hmmm. $3,000 for six cars? And they still have 14 more available!
Didn’t they buy those cars from Metra for $1 each?
I’ll take them - and make some money leasing them to tourist railroads.
Why would VRE be forced to dismantle them but Metra be allowed to operate them? Wouldn’t it be best for VRE to sell them for scrap? I would assume that 6 cars would have more than three thousand dollars worth of metal.
Gallery cars for tourist service? I don’t think so.
