LiveTrains.com installed their new web cam in Ft. Madison last night. Much better zoom and night-vision.
That is really neat
[#ditto]
Noticed at 2 a.m. this morning a bad lens flare in the middle of the picture (middle of L to R range). Looks like a reflection of a neon sign – it flickers like the flame on a candle. Looks like a large bonfire just the other side of the tracks.
Anyone else see it?
Fort Mad is a great location for this, but I really, really hate the fact that this has “user controls” Some #$@ head has the controls right now and is apparently test driving it. Pan as fast as possible one way, go back the other way. Zoom in tight on the pavement. Zoom in tight on the ballast. WOOOOO HOOOO!! I’m getting motion sickness from this dufus.
Double stack. He was there at 8 am also. I had it zeroed on a w/b on the bridge. He almost messed that up.
I went to “livetrains.com”.
Waited for jave to download. Then notified in frame “disconnected”.
Went to cam 2 all i got was NV. advertizements, no access to a webcam. same with cam 3 Galesburg,Il. then it locked up my broser.
Spike. I already have the latest Java installed. I just now went to livetrains.com clicked on traincams and then Ft. Madison. It is working OK for me. Only help I can suggest is go to Java for updates. Good Luck. Lots of trains today
I’ve been watching it for a little bit this evening, saw two trains go past, one each way. I noticed that I can only control the camera using the preset views.
EDIT (8:20 PM): Just watched another eastbound combo COFC/TOFC go by- noticed the “flame” you were talking about, PZ, just to the left of the old fort. I suspect it is a reflection of a business sign on the camera’s weather protection dome, assuming it has one.
They changed the webcam over today to just the presets, may be because of problems as posted above.
