New work rail truck for the BSRR

Hi all

Got some new pics of a new model I threw together rather fast after getting the idea. I was hoping to have it at this stage for the BTS, but I was too busy to work on it, now I’m home while our bathroom is getting remodeled,so NOW I have time…always seem to oodles of time AFTER my deadlines are past…

Anyway this is an MDC Hustler block, Mack hood and cab, built on an El Cheepo K-line gondola…and a bunch of spare change in parts, plastic stock, and wood shapes.

So what do you think?

So what should I paint it? I was thinking stock Borracho Springs colors, silver body hood and panels, and black chassis…[:D]

Vic;

Looks like you’ve got another “One Of A Kind”. Excellent Job.

What color? My vote is to stain the lumber on the “cow catcher” with a dirty stain, paint the “currently white steel” a rusty color, then just “weather” the rest of it. I mean this is a beautiful OOAK, and there are so many variants of the “Goose Fleet” running around now anyway. To my line of thought the gloss silvery tin look, while authentic, is getting a little overworked. If you feel you really need to paint it then I would go for an “MOW” dirty gray.

Hi Vic
Another interesting beast.
Any colour you like as long as its Black[:D]
Though possably being in revenue service crimson lake has its appeal
or may be Brunswick Green.
The front pilot beam should be buffer beam red.
That must be at least 4 cents worth [:D]

Fresh from the paintshop:

The corporate colors look great Vic!

Looks neat!

Hi Vic
All you need know is some luggage and some chook crates in the tray and too couple it back to back with the silver rail bus.
And I would say you have a rather different and interesting local train service
what do you think??

Well a little time in that desert environment and didnt stay shiny new for long![;)]

Back in the shop for a little tune up, and you can see the results of a week in the southwest heat and dust! Give it a month, they’ll be nothing left.

You better take some pics and send one in for the photo contest!
