What do ya’ll do for New Year’s Eve? I’ve never really done much, though several years ago my sister got married on the 31st. At midnight they had a champagne toast for everyone. That was neat.
This year, I’ll probably just hang out at home, watching movies. (Have to watch the Poseidon Adventure. Takes place on the NYE.)

WE stay home, getting a little old for that late late night stuff , but maybe i’ll run some late trains. , happy new year to you Rene and to all on the forum. Ben[:D]
Oh those New Year parties. Only memories now. We will see the New Year in and then retire. I have just accepted an early shift on New Years Day so it will be a short night especially if my son staggers home in the same state as last year.
Happy New Year everyone.

Last year we went to a swanky local restaurant in Old Town called Twinn Palms for a dinner, which was excelent but its an open air restaurant and last new years by midnight it was COLD!!! and the dance floor was so crowded all you could do was stand there and move up and down…This year I’m going to try another place in town, but just for dinner, we will most likely come home early and camp out watching movies. My wife just started a new job with an hour+ commute each way, so she’s pretty tired by fridays and I suspect would like a quit new years this round.
A log for the fire, a bottle of Perrier Joilet and a romantic/comedy sounds just about right this year…
Last year we went down to friends place about 60km south and ran trains until midnight. It was a warm night and didn’t get dark until about 10pm, it was great(its summer in this half of the world, incase you han’t guessed).
This year summer has forgot to come[:(], so running trains is definitely off the menu. By next year I should have my railway finished (well, the track part anyway), so maybe it will be my turn if the weather decides to co-operate.

You need a life,NO you need a RR in your back yard. There you go.!! Hey, I can’t say much, I’m working Sat. Thats how self employed folks get paid holidays. heheeh.
I do wish you the best, let us know when your getting merried.
I hope to be running my new Aristo Flaged U.P. unit if it shows up by then.
Happy New Year everyone…
I’ll run a train of LGB shorty cars, mostly loaded with candy, but I’ll add the little wine wagon to the consist. Pathetic way to celebrate, but it’s just me and the dog, and I don’t drink!

Hey Sandy,
Not pathetic at all. BTW…I don’t drink either. Hey…we got a pup a few weeks back. So now we have a new addition to our New Years Eve. celebration. Wish I could run a midnight train…but my line is good and frozen under the white. Supposed to get a blizzard tomorrow! [:D] On my way now for fuel for the snowblower. Later eh…Brian.

HOME ALONE !!??
No,I imagine the wife and I will celebrate as normal.(NOTHING,NADA,ETC.)
We may have a bottle of 'wine’but the movie & going to bed sounds great![:)]
We aren’t total party poopers, but around midnight and later, we like going
down,US older folks have to have a little more rest![:D]
Well it sound like you blokes do similar stuff to us Aussies at New Year. I believe in all the world Sydney Harbour is “THE PLACE TO BE” the fireworks and entertainment is unsurpassed. I have done that in my yacht some years ago and will never do it again; just too crowded and you worry all time about hull damage.
However this year we did what Aussies normally do and that is to have a pool party, it was over 30 degrees last night at midnight and the only place for an Aussie to be is a bit drunk and in swimming. Not to much so or you will kwake up next year dead.
