New Years Photo Fun!

I have been messing around with video myself (iMovie). This isn’t up to DJ’s high-quality, but I think it’s fun.

Platte Valley & Western RR promotional film from 1953. Scenes in Denver and Troublesome Gulch area. Music by Glenn Miller.

Good stuff guys[:)].

I haven’t got any modeling done recently, but I did hang up a new ornament over the layout:

You also might have noticed the new MTH SD70M-2 that came in this week[:D]

Happy New Year,

Jamie

Over break, I got a good bit of modeling done (a lot for me). Unfortunately, I am down the shore for the New Year, and didn’t take photos of my work before I left. So I’ll just have to show them in 2011.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Happy New Year!!!

Awesome work & photography again this week!, KUDOS!!!

This is a shot of a Plastruct Vertical Tank kit I intend to use behind a diesel shop. A Wiking JD will be getting all the air & gas cylinders loaded on it’s palette once they are dry. I used some mesh for the walkway (& on the tractor fork-lift), & some Archer decals for the ‘manways’. I used superglue & a toothpick to ‘spot’ bolt bumps on the manway flanges. The base is painted with textured spray paint & then hit with a wash in certain areas. The tanks will be painted white & the ladder & walkway will be ‘industrial gray’ I think. I used ‘Blair Line’ Signs to finish off the base. The DM&E GP40-2 is an Atlas model that is ‘wet’ with fresh weathering, it does not have glass or number boards as of yet.

Garry,
Wonderful pictures of some great modeling.

Wonderful train ride Grampy. Your layout surely sets a high standard for the rest of us. Keep up the good work, someone out there is going to try to match you. (I’ve got a long way to go).

Thanks for sharing,

Chad, WOW thats cool, I was planning to do the same on my layout with the tanks.![swg]

Hi all,

great photos and videos.

My first photo posting in 2011!!!

While the northern hemisphere freezes, down in Australia we have summer flooding and storms. I was fixing some trees damaged in a recent summer squall when I found this giant bug.

The driver of the climax in the background even closed his windows, just in case it flew in his direction.

cheers

Grampy What a great video

It’s really hard to shoot a track level view of a train ride with out getting some

unwanted backgrounde views of overhead lighting

and other unwanted scenes But you’ve come very very close

Your excellent track and ballat work help hold the attention to center screen

Nice Work !

Here 's a video i shot 6 times just to get un wanted views out of the pictures

like the tops of sky board ect

and although my modeling is not near as good as yours

i was finally satisfied with the view

WOW!!! [:O]Those pics are AMAZING , is it a diorama or part of a layout, if so, please post more layout pics!!![:)]

No, I don’t wanna sound like The Situation! [(-D]

Beautiful Job on the refinery Rob [Y]

Excellent, Rob. Maybe these’ll show up in MR in a few months? [:P]

Crandell

Wow! Let me get my shades! How many lights do you have on that thing? Post some day shots for comparison.

Good work!

Rob, that refinery is amazing! Hope it ends up in one of the magazines somewhere.

Rick

I second what others have commented…Rob, that refinery is amazing!! One of the most impressive night displays I think I’ve ever seen. I’d be hard pressed to tell without a good look that that wasn’t a real refinery at night!

Wow Rob! I guess it is obvious why you have not been here in a while. Based on any specific location?
