This goes out to all of you. I am permanently leaving this forum for good. The reason why you might ask. Read my thread called “My Wish” and there’s your answer. GDRMB HPV may have been off topic but you could atleast have answered to it. Good bye Andrew and Jim. I have not decided weather or not to delete my profile, I might leave it up to the caring people.
LATER EVERYONE MAY YOU ALL GET BAD KARMA
Well I cannot find the thread “my wish”
As for the other posts I looked at your rail images folder and you had lots of diesel images. I myself am not a fan of diesel locomotives they are just big boxes with motors in them.
I love steam. Sorry If you posted a question and I didnt answer it but I only answer if I know of a link or an actual fact that can help.
As far as message boards go this one is the best
I have gotten lots of help here.
I wish you well
I had posted a question too with no answer.
I figered that noone had a answer, or there’s is no answer, but i’m not going to quit because of it.
The thread Mitchell is talking is http://www.trains.com/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=26970
He comments that it is rude for people to not answer when a question is presented. Unfortunately, asking a question on a forum and asking a question in person are two totally different environments in which humans are compelled interact.
He is also upset about a poll where he posted a dozen or so drawings of fictitious locomotives and asked which your favorite was. No one voted or commented.
I truly hope that Mitchell will gain a little experience and maturity from this. I foresee the same thing happing on any forum he chooses to go to. I find it funny that the most important questions I need answers to, no one answers. And it has happened to me numerous times on this forum as well as others.
I doubt that Mitchell will leave us forever. Much like many New Year’s resolutions, it will be broken.
May everyone and their families have a safe and happy new year!
BC
Ya im hopeing for warmer waether.
Hey guy…
I read your post and you want to know something? I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what you were talking about. That doesn’t mean your thread is bad, and it doesn’t mean (necessarily) that I am an idiot. It just means that it is an area where we just don’t share common knowledge. A person can’t comment on a thread if they don’t understand it.
Don’t go away mad. Take a chill pill and check back tomorrow morning.

[#ditto] I’m with roadtrip. I read your thread on that little hotrod and basically I had nothing to say about it or add to it. I think your being a little unfair to all the good people here. You have to remember that not all hold the same interest as you, with the exception that we are all model railroaders here or are interested in the hobby at least. I’m not knowledged in modern day diesels or there classifications, my interest is in steam power so I don’t respond to threads about the tech stuff on diesels. It doesn’t mean that I’m rude or dislike the poster. If your not finding satifaction here then it is probably best to leave, but as long as you’ve been a member here you must have gotten some enjoyment out of it so I hope you’ll thimk this out and we’ll continue to read your posts. Ken
Ditto. What the heck is that GTO thing you said was made by this company I’ve never heard of? The only GTO I know of is the Pontiac GTO. How do you post something like that and expect people to know what you’re talking about? How about giving us a little insight?
I’m starting to reconsider. Keep going. 40 posts will be sufficient in keeping me here.
GDRMCo - I’ve felt similar feelings to what I think you’re talking about after visiting a hobby shop with some extremely arrogant model railroader cashiers. Just about told me not to bother shopping there if I didn’t want to buy brass stuff - seriously, that was the vibe I got.
I left there so mad - my wife thought I was nuts for being so mad. I was like, “you don’t understand… I got this vibe here when I was 10, now I’m 29 (I was 29 at the time), and these guys are still the same - do they know I’m a professional, and model railroading doesn’t define who I am… I should go right back in there and give them a piece of my mind…” (apparently I really had some bottled up stuff from when I was a kid in that shop!)
I tell this story because it sounds like this is what you’ve felt like you’ve experienced in our virtual online world here.
I’ve been browsing this forum for a while. Haven’t seen those types of MRR’s here so far. Stick around. Unfortunately, the internet isn’t “real” interaction. It’s very easy to misconstrue things. Thank God I didn’t grow up with the internet as a kid. It’s an artificial social situation.
The guys/girls here seem pretty cool to me. Stick around - you have things to contribute man!
P.S. wishing bad Karma - bummer man! Don’t do that!
And good Karma to you…
Mitchell, why do 32 more people have to post here to “be sufficient in keeping me here.” If you want to leave, leave. Some times posts don’t get answered. I’ve had posts not answered. It doesn’t mean that the posts are bad. I read your posts and i’m sure lots of people here read your posts. But leaving the forum just because a most posts go unanswered, is ludicrous.
This is the main reason i stay on the atlas forum…
Bye, Mitchell.
As my folks used to say every time I ran away from home, “Don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out!”
Boy did I get tired of hearing that line.

Your drawings show much imigination and talent. Don’t give up the ship (loco).
One of these days one of the locos you draw may actually be a working engine. Remember the Wright brothers were heckled too, as were many people (now famous) for their ideas and inventions.
I have started topics that bombed. Then a short while later someone else brings up the same topic and it fills many pages (happening right now on the magazine forum). I know that when people start a topic they all wish it would be successful, some are, some are not. It is funny how a topic will bomb one time but just a short while later really take off and fly.
Another thing to remember is what may interest you may not interest someone else and vice versa. And another thing to think about, some people do not want to repeat what has already been said by someone else in the same thread.
You are an intelligent young man with many talents. Hold your head up, continue to contribute where you may help others and don’t be afraid to seek help here if you need help.
I am looking forward to seeing your next post.
Jim
hey Mitchell can i get the website where you show your locomtives? i saw your models and you have lots of talent. don’t give up
what the heck was that for??!?!?
here it is http://www.railimages.com/gallery/micklegg
Mitchell,
In all seriousness, I hope you don’t leave but if you do, good luck.
I must say that getting mad at people for not replying is a little childish. We all have that at one time or another. For example, I viewed your thread showing cars. I did not reply, want to know why? Because I did not believe it belongs in a train forum. I say this only in the hope to help you in the future in putting thought into what you post. Maybe a little growing up needs to be done. Alot of forums I have been on have an age requirement of at least 18 yrs. Thats probably a good rule, not always necessary but it does eliminate some problems of this nature. I am in no way putting you down, just trying to help you see the other side of the issue.
By the way, didn’t you just leave the forum awhile ago before leaving this time??!!
[;)]
Anyway, good luck, J1
What motivates people to start a thread to tell us they’re leaving the forum? This isn’t the first time it’s happened. If you want to leave, leave. You don’t have to announce it to all of us.
Is a caring person one who wishes others “bad Karma?”

What is Karma?
