New York and Atlantic Information wanted

I am interested in finding information ther than waht is aleady on the Internet abot the New York and Atlantic Railroad that took over freigh operations from the former LIRR. It would also like information on other freight operations now run by the MTA in the NYC and Long Island areas of New York.

Can anyone help or at least direct me to places to look other than the Internet?

The May 1999 issue of Trains magazine has a 6 page article on the New York and Atlantic Railroad.

What kind of information are you looking for?

Google it. Or ASK. Or any search engine. You’ll be surprised how much will come up.

I’ve found alot on the Inyternet but what I need to know is the kind of trains they run and the cargo usually carried. I can’t really see any train schudel information on their website or anywhere else. I know what cars they own and I know what locomotives they have but what I can’t seem to find is when and where they are used.

Been there. Done that, but didn’t get the T-shirt. There is still alot I don’t know and need to know that isn’t on the web site or elsewhere on the internet.

Also check LIRR fan forums…they often discuss the freight operations. Railroad dot nuts, er, dot net I believe has a forum just on that road.

I’ll try that one.

Thanks,

Irv
