Where else could you see heavy competition for passengers in US, like those I mentioned in “Subject”?

I’m a Swede who’s moved to Glasgow in Scotland.

Chicago-California (ATSF vs UP/SP) Chicago- Something- St Louis 5 routes Chicago- Midwest- Florida (all the snowbirds with their RV or fly now) we sure see them in Nashville!

The Gulf Mobile and Ohio (former Alton line), the Illinois Central, and the Wabash all competed for the Chicago-St. Louis passenger market back in the pre-Amtrak era. (I hope I didn’t leave anybody out.)
