New York Trip Pics

Was in and otut of NYC very quickly for a meeting last weekend, but managed to get some railfanning in under my belt. Thought I would share some.

Here’s an early morning double stack at CP22 in West Nyack NY heading south (at a pretty good clip, I must add). I don’t know the symbol on this one.

Now, the next two shots may not be for everyone, but since 1976 I’ve been saying that I want to get out to Staten Island to shoot the SIRR. Just took me 31 years to get there. First shot is a set of R44s beneath the Great Kills station house.

The second is taken at Eltingville, which also still has a station house, but it’s at street level, under the train. I do wish I’d seen these trains back when they still had their blue stripes. They look way too utilitarian in one color.

Please do respond with any corrections. Thank you.

Very nice, brings back memories of when I lived in the area in the fifties through 1975. Thanks.

…Something different. Enjoyed seeing them. Track condition appears to be very decent on the SIRR.

Nice pics ! Looks like the leaves are starting to change in NYC…Thanks for sharing…

Your stack train photo was exceptionally nice. Well framed, very good all around. Nice work.

Yes Charles, I agree that your photos are very nice indeed. That CSX double stack train is among the very best I’ve ever seen. Well done and keep them coming.

Hey guys… my sincere thanks for the kind words.

I’m planning on posting a couple more shots from that trip when I have the opportunity. It’s always fun visiting places far from home (or in this case - my old home from decades past).
