I am a newbe here but have been into trains of all scales for many years. A nice side effect of that is that people think of you when cleaning out their attics.
A realative has given me some suitcases of post war and prewar lionel. One case had a lot of oddball stuff. There are two nice box cars but they have little to help identify them. They are a ltitle bigger than the other O gauge and definitely not lionel. Can anyone help me identify the manufacturer?
Both frames are identical zinc castings with a crossed supports molded in. The frames are stamped NPC surrounded by a box with a 1 following outside the box. There is also a number 324-4 The body is held on with countersunk screws in the 4 corners. The trucks and couplers are defintly not origninal so they are no help The plastic body measures 10-1/4" x 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" They have plastic opertating doors which attach and slide on metal rails top and bottom.
The liveries are
Minneapolis and St Louis # 4382 green with yellow letters
NYC Pacemaker # 174470 red and grey
