Happy new year, all…and kindly ask for a bit of help from Kato Unitrack modelers…
I’m new back at the hobby so please be patient…I recently bought a track pack of Kato HO Unitrack…which seem to serve my purpose well since I’m picking up the hobby again after a 30 year layoff, and I don’t have the time for a lot of soldering and ballasting, and the basic kato systems seems great…but I have a (simple) question on the electric turnout switches -
I’m uncertain about the wiring requirements - when buying the switches what other Kato materials must/should I procure. I want to keep it simple, but to have electric switches on the far side of my layout. I am getting the Kato powerpack, because I understand that is most compatible for the unitrack system…
What’s the other stuff I’ll need to make them work? The material on the Kato site is less than illuminating…I hear that the Kato switches are more complicated…just want to be sure I have the right stuff to make them work, and don’t have to make several trips or different purchases (which means delayed delivery time).
The switches will be about 3-4 feet from my powerpack. I plan on two right #4, one left #4 and a left #6.
Thank you all~!!! Appreciate your help getting me back on my modeling feet!
