Howdy from the greatest state in the union-TEXAS! I’d like to thank those who have answered my previous posts and now I have another questions for you folks[:)] Can you have other hobbbies in addition to model railroading, like reading, video games and the like? Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot but this is really helping me. Stephen
P.S. Merry Christmas
Your answer is YES. Everyone has an interest in more than one thing. I oil paint, draw, and make wood crafts. If we didn’t have more than one interest we would be a very dull society. I enjoy model railroading but also enjoy other things. Don’t feel like your cheating you model railroad hobby interest by doing other things or you might just lose interest in model railroading, and that you don’t want to happen, so enjoy yourself in what ever you do. There is time for everything.
Of course you can! Unless you become like me and this “hobby” begins to occupy every single moment of your life [:p]
I’m also into collecting scale model buses. My favorite has always been the GMC “Fisbowl series” as these are the ones I rode on as a kid and repaired as an adult.
I’m looking forward to the HO buses that are being produced by Busch Models. Supposed to be available in the U.S in January 2005.
Of course, the 1960s town on my layout will definetly have transit bus service!
High Greens!
Yes. It is perfectly legal to have other hobbies. I personally have five or six. (Lets see. MRRing, Model Airplane building, Train chasing, Target shooting, Collecting baseball cards, Photogrphy, and when I have some friends to do it with, camping and hiking. [I can mix that into train chasing and photogrphy as weel [:D][:D][:D][8D][8D][8D]]) My father has even more that that! Our common complaint is that we have more hobbies than we have time for. I must admit though, that while I have all these other hobbies, Model Railroading is the one I spend the most time on.
Hope this makes you feel more secure,
James
TEXAS??? Oklahoma is the greatest in the union, and we’ll always be on top[:D]. Yes you can have all the hobbies you want. If you’ve got other interests, divide your time up you’ll find that you spend a lot of time on one for a while, then switch back to another.
antoniofp45 as a retired Hound driver I too love busses. The series you mention were available at the train show in Milwaukee this month. The new Greyhound looks awsome, but at $28 it’s a little pricey.
