Newbie pot of coffee a place for newbies to talk.

Hello guys got an idea i thought us newbies could have a spot to talk about the hobby and ask questions and just talk. Feel free to say anything and hopefully this can become sticky.[#welcome][#welcome]
And remember the best part of this hobby is just having fun…

I don’t want to sound rude here, but it strikes me that newbies would be better served by hanging out with the regulars, instead of trying to form their own place. The regulars are quite knowledgeable and friendly around here, and are easy to get along with, even if you feel a little shy.

One small favor please. Insert a carriage return in that long line of welcome smileys. That is what is causing this page to have to be scrolled across.[swg]

Well done!!! Nice fix. That’s one little quirk of the forum that you have now mastered.[:D]

I’ve accidentally done that a few times, that’s how I know what causes it.[#oops][;)]

Thanks and i know that but your not a newbie and were browsing this forum so i thought that people like you could answer are questions and help out. Also i thought this could be a place for newbies like me could just talk about progress on our layouts.
Remember Have Fun!!!

You are more than welcome to join us at any time on “The pot of coffee is always on”

Just jump in at any time.

Well, I for one like the thought. I got my first train when my age was measured in “months” rather than years–and I still have it–but I still feel like a newbie, anyway. I got away from all that stuff until a couple of years ago, now that I’m old enough to be allowed to play with toys and be thought of as a hobbyist, rather than a grown man who plays with toys! [:I]

I’m a newbie in adjusting to the new things available, trying to keep the “sophisticated toy” look of the old items, most of which still work, while adding new nifties. I’m sure I’ll get a “Beep”, for instance.

Anyone have similar experiences with adding to an old layout–but after so long he or she is really a newcomer?

kind of but i have yet to get through laying track… And i never thought of being a newbie beacause we are adjusting to new products… thats a cool perspective.

does anybody have a beep locomotive??? I wanted to know how strong of a puller they are. thanks

I have a Beep. It pulls surprisingly well for such a small locomotive. I have not tried it pulling a train up a grade, though.

cool thanks seams a bit small for 100 car trains… thankfully i dont have anof room so i dont need to worry about that… well thanks.
one question to all of you whats the best brand for 3 rail trains???
thanks

Matters on what you need. I do not care about the brand name, I just buy trains!
