Newbie with Scenic Ridge

Hi and I hope to be an active member going forward!

My info request is at best poor for those experienced and lame for others.

I was given a Scenic Ridge kit with tracks and buildings. I have limited space and want to set up some type of base to build the layout on.

Are there suggestions?

Thanks so much!

Welcome

I’m not sure what a scenic ridge is. A little more information would help and what do you intend to do with it?

Will it be part of a model train layout?

Have fun

Lee

HI!

Here is a naming covention for the scenic ridge model train layout kit:

Scenic Ridge® N Scale Lightweight Layout Kit

Cut and pasting should et you to a lot of info.

I am looking for a light weight base recommendation since in Florida we have no basements and most of my house is taken up with kids in bedrooms and cas in the garage.

Thanks!

Woodland Scenics Scenic Ridge

Hi AMYJA,

I see the layout is @ 3x6. How about some metal folding table legs. Not sure how sturdy the Woodland scenics base is but you could either attach the legs right to the base or attach the legs to a wood frame like particle board, plywood or 1x. You might even have something around the house. 2x4’s anything. if you do need to do a wood base it doesn’t need to be very big as you can have the layout hang over the base. The folding legs will allow you to fold it up and hang it on the wall for example.

Check out the link for the metal legs.

Good Luck and be sure to let us know what you finally use.

Thanks and will do on the project!
