Today Choo Choo Willie broke down and actually TRIED some of those New Fangled ideas that all you youngn’s round here have been nattering bout.
Yes folks, I actually went a got 120 Tee pins and laid some cork roadbed with some liquid nails. I’ve got to tell you folks, I’ve never laid so much cork roadbed in such a short time before. Sure speeds things up!
That worked so well that I used some plain old Welbond carpenters glue as per mySon in Law’s suggestion and it works really well too and it’s way more cost effective that those tubes of liquid nails. (Washes off the fingers way easier to.)
So… I would have to say that you youngns just may be on to something after all!
Way to go guy. Now keep it up and keep us informed…
Always remember, choose the best scenario for what you want and if the situation changes the layout can be changed as well. The most important move is to get started. I know this from experience.
And thanks for calling me a young’n, I’m looking at 71 myself.
Are you located in Calgary or where? It doesn’t give a location on your Sig.
I have found cheap latex caulk works as well as the Liquid Nails at a great savings. Not sure how the cost compares to Welbond as I have never used that. The one thiing I would ask is, how well does it hold when you need to change things later? The caulk will let go using a putty knife to carefully lift the track/cork off the base.
