News from the 54th National TCA Convention in Vermont

I’ve had the chance to meet some great CTT Forum members, and had a few stop by for a visit last night.

Here’s an article about that:

There’s been quite a bit of talk here about the Lionel $200 0-8-0. They have one of the better-detailed versions to be included in the Santa Fe set at their display. It is stunning! Great drive-rod detail, and an operating coupler on the front. I will take pics later.

M-T-H has some Verrrry nice Pre-War Ives sets that have to be seen to be appreciated.

Williams and Atlas-O are here too. I will take some time at their booths to see what’s new.

The TCAers are torn between guys like me who are jazzed about the new “Authentics” series, and those who thought they owned their retirement packages!

Having a great time! Wish you all were here!

Jon, please tell the people at Williams to post the catalog on line. It would be a great asset to the hobby and to their business. A certain element of the hobby will not take the time to order a catalog, wait for it to arrive and then turn around and order the engine, etc. But, if they have it on-line, then we can look it up and place our orders with the distributor of our choice. I used to be a member of the Williams Platinum Club, it was a good deal, perhaps they can revive that.

thanks,

As a brand new member, this was my first TCA convention and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I met a lot of great people and it was a thrill to talk to the major manufacturers. I run a lot of Williams and I was particularly interested in talking to the guys at their booth. They told me that they are keeping the existing network of dealers and it will take another couple of months to get up to a full level of production. Once production levels are reached they will hold higher levels of inventory unlike the old Williams. I also did not have to part with $5.00 for a catalog. I got one for free.

By the way Kooljock, I enjoyed your radio station.
