I love the RDC, but what will Walthers do different than the Life-Like model introduced a couple of years ago? Scale speed? DCC plug in? At $129.98, Walthers has to justify the price.

Good info, glad for what is being made, but could we pleez get a GENSET diesel locomotive in N scale?

yeaah, it is very moderate Locomotive.

I see that Atlas is still making GP-38-2 locos without DCC or sound. Neither they nor Athearn and LifeLike have seen fit to make this very popular loco with today’s opoerating standards. The GP-38-2 was one of the highest number of sold units from EMD, and far more than some of the other sound equiped loco made by those 3. We can get scads of F-7, and the like, and early GP’s from everyone, but no GP-38-2s??? Why is that, and will it ever change.

Atlas told me that they don’t want to cut into sales of the cheaper Trainman GP-38-2, but I’m sure that some would still buy them, and the rest of us could then get sound. The GP-40 with sound should almost be a drop it fit to the GP-38-2 body, shouldn’t it???

I just do not understand the minds of executives, I guess.

I notice that not one engine or car above is decorated for S.A.L.or any southern area RR. Nor can you find Fruit Growers Express reefers. My layout is DCC and I stopped buying anything without sound.Where do you find early GP’s, I can’t in Florida ??
