So will the carriers now try to make one THREE days late?

I hope the dining car stewards were able to replenish their stock along the way so they did not have to open cans of beef stew–or whatever they do when they have more meals to serve than were planned.

I remember that the northbound Coast Starlight’s steward had to buy food in Chemult, Oregon, 28 years ago when a freight train was derailed in one of the tunnels across the Cascades–so he could provide dinner for the passengers (we reached Seattle ten hours late).
