OK…can’t fool us…our forum spies have reported on the UP business train in Atlanta, under the guise of attending a monster truck show, but we all know it’s for merger talks with Norfolk Southern. EHH will take over the reigns of CSX and it’s a no brainer that in no time at all it will be CSX+CP. The chess move by UP is pre-emptive requiring a counter chess move by EHH of CSX+CP+BNSF, although it would not surprise me if he subtly planned the whole shebang in the first place.
That leaves us with CN and KCS who quite rightly merger themselves forming a system cutting down the center of the USA in between the two giants and has huge trackage in Canada, USA, and Mexico playing off to both giants and coasts and 3 countries. They would call themselves "National Lines"and no one is offended. Genius.
