I’m nearing the end of my track planing, gathering, rebuilding or what ever you call it, before I start to screw it down, I can deside if I should lay cork and ballest the track, or lay carpet down and forget about ballesting. My goal for the layout is a toy train feel. I like the rubber road bed, but I dont want to spend that kind of money. Any other thoughts? or ideas?
Well, I just got done disassembling my HO layout so you are ahead on me on the track! I noticed during this event that the ballasted track was pretty much wasted in the removal. Now, I’ve never ballasted O gauge but if the results are similar to HO, yuck, when tearing the layout down. I have been considering just using the cork roadbed period… or maybe putting the cork down and maybe washing it with a light gray paint so it stands out a bit… I think I could be convinced that staring at cork would be good enough.

Hey c-burke9,
Take a look at recent topic on roadbed . Sounds like Woodland
Scenics may have something better…

Starting a new mth layout and I am wondering if can use some of my atlas Ho equipment for use with my mth track . I would like to know if i can use my atlas switch control units for my mth switchs and any other things that would work with my mth realtracks track . felix
