Im just looking for some nice photographs, preferably vintage or look vintage;black and white or 50’s or 60’s color photos. Anybody know where i can find these, in my LHS there is nothing like that there, and i dont think ive seen anything in GATS. Im looking for some in the transition era, some streamliners with some steam mixed in, nice quality photos for a room that can be framed and are about the size of a piece of paper or a little bigger. Thanks alot, looking for pics from 40’s to 60’s. ATSF, UP, SP, WP, Thanks, Ben
Try the internet and look for Vintage railroad locomotive builders photos, Lima, etc etc. these companies had beautiful builders photos of each locomotive in black & white, someone out there has them for sale, they are around page size, and are very classy.
The Union Pacific site www.uprr.com has a bunch of photos and advertising posters for sale. Click on General Public - History & Photos.
CW and I went to Greenburg’s train show here back in Jan. They had
some really good pictures: older pictures of steam and early deisel,
along with newer ones also.
CW and I managed to get a couple of the at a reasonable price.
(think they are from the C & O magazine.)
And the other suggestions are very good also. Keep looking on the
internet, and you’ll find what you want.
I have not bought anything from this place, but there are some nice photographs.
