Said sales were up 40% in the last couple years. No mention of lawsuits. [8D]

Wonderful publicity for Lionel. Other manufactures will benefit too.
Thank You for the Link.
With all the discussion in one of the other Target topic regarding advertising, it was pleasant to see that newsclip. Lets hope we see more advertising to help the hobby grow. [:)] I’m about 90 minutes from NYC, I should go see those Macy’s displays!
Great publicity for Lionel and the hobby.
Stan.
THANK YOU for posting that link. I never watch network news, so never would have seen it. Now if Lionel were SMART, they’d USE that segment to help advertise the new trains. Get permission from NBC and have a small TV with a VCR running an endless loop of it at every store where they are selling trains.
Geez I saw an S2 turbine in the black and white video and a NYC F3 in the color part. That was COOL!!! [8D]

That was great ! Maybe it’s my age but I remember a train layout in alot of stores and front windows every Xmas when I was a kid ! Maybe the new digital and realistic sounds will help bring in new owners . It did me I went and plunked down for a complete digital system after bringing my 5 year old railsounds engine out of the war chest just to show my sons what they sound like . – a 59 year old kid – hahahaa I could have bought a descent house for what a high end engine and setup costs today and that’s no lie ! A new bottom line off the showroom floor chevy or ford was only $1,800.00 . Of course my sons and grandkids talk like I lived during the invention of gasoline powered autos when I tell them that . My one son asked me if I got Henry Ford’s autograph . – LOL
Heck…for all I know it could have been ANY version including an E9. When I see that nose, the first thing I think is “F3”. [:D]

I can’t tell the difference either.
Count the wheels/axles on the truck. E’s were three axle, A-1-A (middle axle was unpowered). F’s were two axle B-B’s.
Couldn’t do it in the video Chuck. To fast a shot to see them.

You and me both. I am just IN LOVE with Lionels F units.
Very cool. Thanks for posting the link.
Thanks for posting! Nice to see that the hobby grows…
Here in Holland we don’t have big shopping malls and therefore no layouts at christmass to look at. It’s fun to see how things are at the other side of the globe…!
