Nickel Plate Road PA en route to ‘Streamliners’ event
Routing likely to be over ex-NP from Pasco to Sandpoint, possibly using ex-SP&S between Fish Lake and Spokane (Latah Jct.), then ex-GN/BN from Sandpoint to Fargo on what was the Surrey “cut-off” (through New Rockford, ND) and ex-NP to St. Paul. Route to Chicago is over former CB&Q Twin Cities main. Time-in-transit subject-to volume of movements (such as Bakken-related) and yard work encountered en-route.
Routing?
Looking forward to seeing lots of photographs of vintage cab units en route to Spencer. This is an incredible undertaking and I am pleased to see Trains Magazine supporting the North Carolina Transportation Museum.
I wonder if it will be well worth the wait?
It should be well worth the wait!!

It has begun!
Previously Trains wrote BNSF would take it to Chicago and NS would take it to Spencer. I haven’t seen anything more detailed yet.
Its a wait well worth.
Can Trains publish a routing of the various units headed to Spencer? I live on the Chicago-Aurora Racetrack and expect NKP PA-1 190, and IRM’s CB&Q E-5 & C&NW F-7 to come through, but when?
It’s on the bnsf. There WILL be a wait. May not make it at all
The Alco flatnoses will completely steal the show.
I was very excitied about the Streamliners event anyway but this is has put me over the top! I have never seen a PA and have never seen any NKP locomotive. I’m counting the days!
Grant. Why would the units from Union come down the BNSF when the UP main to Belvidere connects to the museum trackage?
It would look very good pulling the City of Lima.
