Photo taken during regular operating session on the Colorado Consolidated Railway, and yes, it really is that dark out.

TOC

hey, they weren’t big pics at all!!! but beautiful! If I’m running only 1 train with a visitor, I turn all the lights out and only the ones on the layout illuminate the surrounds…danny

I kinda like to do that to Danny, especially with passenger trains!

My turn:

Night shot using simulated multiple flashes.

Jim, be glad to help you any way I can. You’ve sure helped me with mrring over the months.
Jarrell

Thanks! And like Hollywood movies, it’s all mostly fake:

Lighting by several LED flashlights only, 20 second exposure.

Bob Boudreau

Very nice touch on that photo, Bob.

I don’t have nearly your experience, and I certainly don’t have a digital camera. But, you sure make me want to correct those two deficienies. [^]

i love the eerieness of this photo. its like something stephen king would use for the cover on a book.

near the essex steam train exebit here in CT i saw a poor old 44 ton US army loco on an abandoned, shadey siding. i felt kind of bad for it. some access doors were opened, the intiorior was gone, and it looked almost ghostly, painded dark green, rustey, and surrounded by old crane equipment.

A camera is relatively easy to acquire, 40 years of experience can take a bit more effort! [:D]

Good luck!

Bob Boudreau
