Niles Canyon Railway to operate two steam locomotives this weekend
I’m not a PLA member.
I fired and ran trains on the NC Ry right-of-way from 1960 'til SP got trackage rights on the formerly WP when UP got it.
Then I owned the local frt that served that UP track and SP customers, a lot of the time from '86 to ‘98; the UP track is on the other side of Niles Canyon, a place that looks satisfactorily like where you, any, all of us would like to wake up to, and now, thru’ it run these locomotives, sight and sound from a past we can cherish.
I’m not a flack.

We all appreciate the great work that Trains does on keeping us informed. Too bad I missed this event, only 2 hours away, as the news of the show came after the event was over.
