Niles Canyon Railway

A pair of switches and short length of rail crossing the Sunol - Pleasanton (CA) Highway are being installed this week. That will give the Niles Canyon Railway a rail connection to parallel UP track and allow the larger equipment in their extensive collection to be moved to their yard. Ought to make for some interesting equipment moves in the near future.

Rent a caboose - what an idea for a kids party!

Larry,
That would be cool[8D] But I was thinking of the speeder ride myself.[:D]

For me (too) - the speeder, for sure - while the party is going on in the caboose…[:D]

So, you are lucky enough to live there huh? Beautiful place. I lived in Hayward 1989-92, and that area was one of my favorite places to go relax.

Niles used to have a semi restored train Depot, and small park next to it. Is that still the case?

Hey Larry, great idea, maybe we can go together while wives and signifant others take care of the kids[:D]

No - I actually live in Texas but occasionally have business in the area. Restoration of the depot continues. It has been fun to watch over the last few years.

Power was FP7-FP7-F7B-FP7-FP7.[8D]
