NJ Transit conductors accused of reselling tickets

Corruption in New Jersey? Say it ain’t so!

Another scheme I’ve seen and have happened to me on Metro North is paying cash for an on-board ticket. The conductor collects the money and puts a seat check above the seat but never gives me the cash receipt. He then pockets the money for himself and there is no record of the transaction. Happened once and I thought it was an oversight. Happened again and I realized a crime was afoot so I demanded a receipt. I watched him make it up on another customer further down the aisle. I should have turned him in.

They should go to the same smart App that Amtrak and other agencies use. Download it to your phone and the barcode reader scans and verifries it so no money in the conductors hands,

@ Donald Armstrong. NJ Transit has an app. for that. It’s called, My Tix. It’s available from the App. store and Google Play. However, it doesn’t work for the occasional rider like me. This past Monday, August 3, I took a train to Hoboken. I had to buy a ticket from a ticket vending machine. I couldn’t do so because the sun blocked the screen. So, I had to buy one from the conductor.

Give those " dudes " a pay raise for their brilliance !! Better yet, appoint them to a position with the ATF and BAT to fight crime across our borders !

They don’t need a raise. They created their own illegal raises.

You know, you’re absolutely right Donald ! Throw the “bums” in jail and force them to make restitution !
