I visited South Amboy and Rahway NJ stations on 11/20.
I have never heard so many NJ Transit cars with flat spots on the wheels. Almost every car and some of the engines.
Maybe these cars were stored on higher ground waiting wheel work when SANDY flooded the MMC.
An off day??? Metra runs extra trains for the shoppers.
Why in the world did they take all of the trains out of Gladstone before the storm? There is no flooding here.
One problem for those of us who depend on NJT is that our transit agency has its own special holidays such as Friday, November 23, the day after Thanksgiving. While many people take the day off for the weekend it is still a regular work day and many people do have to go to work. NJT might recognize this is a low ridership day rather than forcing a no ridership day on commuters and run a reduced schedule. We do need a transit agency committed to providing safe and efficient public transportation.
