While I’m happy to see that NJT is expanding its Quiet Commute Car Service. It’s sad that in this day and age, that the rail roads have to resort to doing this because of a few selfish people!
I’ve been growled at in a MARC quite car when I boarded with my small children. One time, I actually moved to seats in a “regular” car. I was fascinated that the non-quite car was silent–packed with passengers, and not a sound. The “quiet” car I had left had people snoring and talking…even while they gave me and my kids the evil eye and made comments about us… Since then, I’ve always been a bit cynical about the quiet car concept.
