I know this sounds like over simplification but why oh why are trees allowed to overshadow rail lines where any windy day could cause a downed tree shutting down service. Cut the trees. That is what has been done along all the Interstate highways and many US Highways.

Storing trains in the Linden Yard makes sense, since it is right next to the Northeast Corridor, and from growing up in the area, has an easy outlet, right next to NJTransit’s Linden Station.

Sure took NJT a long time to figure this one out.
