What a boondoggle. NJT was given an accurate and detailed forecast for Sandy, including surge locations and levels, and chose to ignore it. The MTA did not, so the NYC subway did they best they could under the circumstances, whereas NJT left millions of dollars of equipment to be wrecked. Why do we need another forecasting system when they ignored the good one they had?? And yes, this is tax dollars. We hope they are spent wisely.
