NMRA Train Show, from the other side of the table

Having recently returned from doing the NMRA Train Show in Cincinnati, I thought I would post some pictures and description of what it is like to do a show like this from a manufacturers prespective.

Have a look at the link below…

It was lots of fun, and lots of work, but well worth the effort…

Tim

Tim,

I read your post and am very impressed and I wi***o thank you for your time to share that with us all, We sometimes forget what the dealers really have to put up with to get there product to us the consumer. I dont know if I am familer with your products do you have a web page for sales? Let me know.

Thanks for posting your weblog!

Were the attendees at the convention into candies and such? Just wondering, as you say " Friday morning was set aside for registered confectioners only". “Registered confectioners”? [:D]

Bob Boudreau

Bob:
Model railroad manufacturers should be called the registered confectioners … selling trains to most of us is like taking candy from a baby.

tim , thanks for the view from the other side . in the mid 80’s i was working as a salesman for an apple dealer and worked in the booth at many trade shows , i know it’s an interesting combination of hard work , long hours , fun , and almost mind-numbing repetion of the same answers to the same questions over and over .

congrats on a good show , and on a great product .

Oops, of course I meant conventioners, the spell checker had a different idea.

Not as bad as the time it changed “sorry for the inconvenience”, to a customer that got the wrong product, to “sorry for the incontinence”. Didn’t notice it until I hit the send button. Took a bit of explaining…
