Well I know this will stir the pot for some, but I thought it a valid question. Remember Keep your sticks on the ice and play nice.
Personally I played for 16 years and I can think of a lot better things to do with my time then watch someone chase a piece of rubber and get paid big bucks.
I like the NHL, and I don’t mind if my sons watch some during the winter. It’s a beautiful team sport, still played by tough men with simple character ------ unlike athletes in the other 3 major sports. So, there will be less tv at my house this winter.
HOckey is the best port in the world!!! It really bites that there wont be a seson, and eveb I’m taking the year off from playing travel Ice Hockey, so, overall, there will be plenty of more time to work mn my MR!!!
Of course it really would effect my train time because theres a small TV in the garage and I can hear the TV from my work bench so i just will not be watching anything this year…dont like Baseball, so-so for Football and Formula Auto racings no fun ever since they started making the courses chain link snarled Rat mazes.
There was a leauge for Pro Hockey? Man I need to get out of the train room more often.
All serousness though, I was unaware that the NHL broke up. What was the reason? Being so busy with school lately I havn’t had much time for anything TV. I force my self to reserve Friday night for Star Trek and Stargate.
Personally I have never been interested in sports–the part of the brain normally devoted to sports in men is instead dedicated to trains and weird music!
Never was sports oriented. Couldn’t care less what type of sport is on TV or any where for that matter. Now if you’re talking about MR, or old cars, old radios, ect., you’ve got my attention!!!
Saw this more or less happen on a recent “Monster Garage” show! They added hirail wheels to a brand new hemi powered Dodge Magnum (what a waste!), as well as a “cow catcher” on the front (their description).
They took the creation to a touirst steam railway somewhere in California and held a drag race with a steam engine. As can be imagined, the Magnum pulled way out in front of the steamer, but its front railway wheels slipped off the track, and it was going along at an angle, dragging the ballast with it. The car stopped just before the finish line, and the steam engine coasted on to be the winner!
Wow, a show featuring three of my interests - cars, trains and drag racing!
Come over here and I could argue that po0int for hours. there is no way in heck bullfighting is a sport. Who wants to watch a guy swing a red flag at a bull and then at the last minuet pull it awa. The person sould have to stand and let the bull gore him in the nuts for being so stupid in the first place. I’ll give you the other 2 though, even though I dont really consider racing a sport eaither, because the car does all the work and u just stter and pu***he gas!! And your pit crew does all the hard work.
I myself have never been interested in sports. I live in a small Canadian prairie town where a good majority of people are obsessed with hockey, but I still don’t care about it.
