Well it seems that after Umteen models, I’m getting to the end of my Testors tube.
I remember someone mentioning a plastic cement that doesn’t get all stringy.

Any of the liquid glues are much easier to work with. They dry fast and best of all don’t have the strings!
Testors is one and Ambroid Pro Weld is good too.
The Ambroid also glues Plexaglas and I have used it for that. Works great on the Plexaglas.
Now most of the other glues that I have used the main component is MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone which can be purchased at most big box stores (Home Depot – Lowes) by the gallon and is a lot cheaper that buying the little bottles.
Just keep filling the little bottles up. Now the usual precautions when handling solvents should apply (ventilation, etc.)
Now I have found that using straight MEK seems to work a little faster than the LHS little bottles (and I suspect that they have other ingredients in with the glue to slow them down – but can’t really confirm this)!

The testors non-toxic is a lot less stringy than the regular testors It takes a bit longer to dry though, and I don’t think it’s quite as strong. But it’s darn close.
Another liquid cement is Faller EXPERT No. 492. It comes in a plastic bottle with a nice long steel “needle” on top for applying the cement.

My LTS sells it for $3.35 and it last a long time.
yes, that stuff is good jw murray jr! Revell makes that stuff too! I don’t just the stuff out of the tube anymore other than for big pieces(such as rocks ect). Also have glasses on to protect your eyes if you’re pouring that stuff into bottles, and keep it away from flames, unless you’re feeling cold;-)

Hehe! I’ve gotten so used to the stringy Testors stuff, it’s almost an involuntary reflex to do the quick circular motion to collect the string after applying the stuff. [:D]
I use the Testors when I have a project that requires a welded bond. Once you glue something plastic with it, the resulting weld won’t break, but the plastic around it will. If I’m making a joint that would be better off breaking at the point of application, should it get mishandled, I will use a quick drying CA. Otherwise, Testors is my glue of choice. With all strings attached, of course.
I use both Testors liquid and tube glues. I still prefer the orange tube, not the blue non toxic tube of glue. I like the smell of the orange stuff, lol.
