Unless for some reason I cannot find them there does not seem to have been any new Videos on Video Plus this week. The last Video Plus Video I can find is the Thin Branch Benchwork Part 4 from last week. The last three videos (Hyrdocal pouring, coupler height and Fence Line modeling) are general Model railroader videos and not exclusive to Video Plus. I thought we were promised at least one new video per week.
There was a new ‘Roundhouse’ with Tony Koester, and a new 'Cody’s Office late last week or early this week. There has been several other video’s added like Gerry Leone’s Bona Vista…
It is sort of hard to see when new content is added - I wish they would have something on the opening web page with what was added in the week.

Yep, that’s the problem with Video Plus, no announcements as to what is new. I look around and see what I can find that I haven’t seen already. So…
MRR and Video Plus, can we have an announcement on the Video Plus and MRR home page of what’s new please?
There you go.
On the front page they have a section called “new videos”.
I assumed it was supposed to show the 9 latest videos. If that is true the last actual Video Plus videos were posted on May 02 (Thin Branch Benchwork 4 and Roundhouse episode 6). The 3 since then are model railroader magazine videos. I didn’t realize it was an easter egg hunt and I had to build my own index. If so then the only one I can be sure of that didn’t appear this week was a “thin Branch” episode.
Video Plus, Can I please have my weekly Thin Branch episode. I am going into withdrawal.
Hmm, the 9 new videos in the new video section seem like they are the latest ones. Remember there are 9 and it only shows 3 at a time. Not sure which day I last looked, but the new eipsode of Roundhouse with Tony did not show in that list, but the Insider mentioned it was coming up - and then just now, the new Roundhouse episode DOES show on the new videos list. So it does get updated, when the new videos go live.

I may sound like an employee in my posts about the Video Plus stuff, but rest assured my only connection to Kalmbach is being a subscriber, these forums, and having my letter to the editor published once a bunch of years ago.I simply don;t seem to be having the issues others seem to have. It just works, on both computers that I have exclusive control over (and my laptop is literally ancient, hard to get new equipment through work). My railroad computer is currently inaccessible or I’d give it a try with a Linux machine just to see. The only slowness I had was on the laptop, a few weeks ago while I was away on business, but a speed test of the hotel’s wifi connection showed it to be less than 1Mb downlink speed - so yeah, I had to pause and let the videos buffer a bit so they would play without stopping.
MRVP announces new videos as they appear, on Twitter. If you want to see what’s new, click on their Twitter link. You don’t have to be a member to see at least the top page of “tweets” (I hate that term!), and they “tweet” each time they post a new video.
You don’t have to be a Twitter member to see these. I’m not and I see them.
Supposedly they announce on Facebook as well, but I haven’t looked there.
AAThere’s a new “History according to Hediger,” and a Basic Training video on adjusting coupler heights. I don’t know if those are on MR’s website also or not.
I should probably start keeping track of what new videos are offered, as well as which ones I have watched. I agree that dragging out an old video from the MR archives, and posting it shouldn’t count as a new video. I haven’t checked, but I think they are putting up at least one new video in hd each week. I do think it would be to their advantage after a few weeks to have a survey of their audience to see what which series we enjoy, which aren’t worth the powder to blow them up, feedback on different subjects, etc.

Twitter? Really? Sorry MR - just another reason I won’t be a subscriber to VP. The more I read of problems or issues it seems to me as if it was poorly launched, supported and maintained. I know some don’t have an issue with it, but it seems every week someone is posting about a problem. I say again - MR is class act and I know this is a way to generate revenue and get into digital content but its a matter of customer service to lure guys like me into subscribing.
Maybe they do announce in this manner; but, wouldn’t it be easier to do it on the home page?
That is the key: some one is posting about a problem. There are thousands of happy customers who do not come here to whine.
You do not need to be on twitter, so that is a totally invalid reason to say you will not subscribe.
I want to go on record that the original post was not about a problem. I have no problem streaming the video, I can navigate the site and am a satisfied subscriber. I would recommend the site to others. For $25 a year, I gain value from it.
The original post was because there did not seem to be any original MR Plus content posted last week. You can find the new content in two ways.
a) Look at the 9 new videos on MR Plus.
b) Look at videos on the MR site for “latest videos from Model Railroader Video Plus”.
For example it is quite easy to see that a new episode of Cody’s workshop was posted today and that its exclusive to MR Plus. I didn’t expect it to wander off. I just expected someone from MR would pick it up today and say either “we goofed and should have loaded x” or “we loaded x and you missed it”.
I would subscribe for $25 but was told by customer service since I have DSL.It would take too long to load. Why would this be since I can watch TV shows on line with no problem? I guess it’s true because lately Cody’s office keeps pausing to load & I can’t pause & let it load?? Seems to me they are excluding a lot of people with DSL. jerry
