I have just purchased an Athearn N&W Boxcar and can’t make out the new date on the car. The item # is ath1210 on the Athearn site but I still can’t read the numbers. The car # is 361508 and from my measurments it has a 6’ single door.

Hi Don. I’m sorry I don’t have the information to offer that you’re looking for. However, if your eyes are as bad as mine, you might consider investing in a lighted magnifier like I had to do. I’m an N scaler, so you can imagine the trouble I’d have seeing those tiny little numbers without it…
I’m also a Norfolk & Western fan, and spent all of this evening repairing damage to a used 4-8-4 J #610 that I won off ebay recently. The overall condition of the engine was like new except for a small blemish on the front just above the headlight. I could have let it go but it would have always bothered me, so I buffed it out and painted over it with very thin flat black paint. I’m very particular about my repair jobs and my own worst critic, but I’ll give myself a cookie for the outcome on the results.
