Hello Forum, Can anyone tell me if the present day Norfolk Southern uses or still has the grey boxcars with the black “N” and red “S” on the side in service? Also, would these boxcars have been in service when Norfolk Southern was operating F3’s? Thanks, Bernard
I’ll take a guess and say that I wouldn’t think so. According to this website: http://www.norfolksouthernhs.org/briefNShistory.html, the original Norfolk Southern Railway was merged into the Southern Railway System in 1974. I would have to believe that any cars they had at that time are either long gone or have been repainted.
