Yhe Norfolk Southern bridge over the Grand River just west of Brunswick, MO was destroyed by a log jam following the undermining of the piers caused by high water flow. Railroad crews hurriedly cut the welded rails to save as much of the bridge as possible. Until the bridge is replaced the NS line into Kabsas City is closed, and detours will be required. This is the former Wabash RR.

I wonder if any of the old deck girder bridge lives to see another day. NS/N&W replaced the rickety Wabash structure long ago, but they are investing heavilly between StL and KC on that whole ex-Wabash Route.
